The Water that Caught on Fire by Joann Scheck Illustrated by Bob Fanter

The king prayed to a stone.  The prophet said to the king to get rid of the temple for Baal.  The prophet is a guy that tells the truth.  He said all the plants would die because there would be no rain.  There was no rain for 3 years.  He told the people that God is real, but they didn't believe them.  Elijah built a stone alter.  He put wood on top of the stones and then an ox or something like it.  They put water on the alter, and it ran into the hole that he dug around the alter.  Elijah said, "Oh Lord, I do pray, Please burn up this alter with fire right away."  The people who didn't believe in Heavenly Father didn't think that the water could catch on fire.  They believed in a stone.  At the end they believed in Heavenly Father.  I liked this book because it was fun.
