These are "real" marbles, actually made out of assorted varieties of marble! They are quite hefty, so they make killer shooters. They are also remarkably cheap for stone marbles! | |
Since the 1930s, almost all toy marbles are made of recycled glass, the reject piles from glass factories. These marbles made by Jabo, were made from glass obtained from the Fenton Glass Co. in West Virginia. The color is obtained using depleted uranium pigments and as such they fluoresce, or glow, under a black light. These pictures show a marble taken in natural light and under a black light.
