No.  They don't have bones and they can fit into skinny things.  Octopus are bilateral.  If you cut it straight in half it will be the same on each side.  People are bilateral too.

Octo = 8
pus = feet

The biggest octopus is 28 feet!  That is bigger than a human and bigger than the table and wider than our kitchen!

How big is an octopus brain?  A little bigger than it's eye.

How does an octopus live in the dark? - We couldn't find the answer to this question.

    • I have tried to find the answer to my 8 yr old daughter's question, How does an octopus live in the dark? I have not found an answer for her anywhere in the encyclopedia or online. Do you know?

    • Much of the time they are not in the dark. Most of them live in fairly shallow water, and those that live a bit deeper come to the surface to feed. For the species that do live deep in the ocean, they use their other senses. They can "smell" things in the water, and are very sensitive to vibrations. Add in their sense of touch with eight arms, and they do a very good job of capturing food.

      I hope that helps.

      Have a wonder-filled day.
